Guitar Hero: Metallica > Aerosmith

You have to respect Activision for trying to flood the market with games. Then again, maybe you don’t. Metallica is the much better option, when making a game dedicated to a band. There’s about two songs I’d like to play on the Aerosmith game and about 10 for Metallica. There are only a handful of bands you could make an entire game based upon and god forbid they decide to make Guitar Hero: U2.

“In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the (Nintendo DS), Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero 4 across multiple platforms,” the company said in its report.

Zelda: A Link To The Past Video Review

I pulled out the SNES recently for some retro gaming action. The very first game I always look to is Zelda. Thats by far my favorite game on the SNES and one of my favorite Zeldas. Enjoy the review. If you want to see us review another retro game, just drop us a line here or you can send us a message on our contact page.

Far Cry 2 Graphics and Dynamics

If you thought Crysis took things to another level, then wait until you see this new video of Far Cry 2.

Not only have they beaten Crysis on the graphic scale, they’ve also beaten them on the dynamics scale. The game looks like Oblivion with guns, which is freaking awesome. This is how you promote a game. You wow people with awesome graphics and dynamics, you don’t have a skateboard in space dropping a deuce on the public.

Guitar Hero: On Tour - The Spoof?

If you thought the video we showed before looked like a spoof, then you haven’t seen anything yet. The new video delves deeper into the usability and game itself… While completely discrediting and making it virtually un-buyable for anyone who has two bits of dignity.

They’ve pretty much focused the marketing of this game towards kids. Which is fine, if you want to alienate a certain market. I have no idea what the marketing team is thinking here. As you watch the video you keep expecting someone to burst on to the screen and yell “GOTCHA!” Sadly, it never comes. They’ve probably done more to hurt this game by advertising it like this, then raise awareness. Let’s hope they don’t manage to blow it with Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Why Didn’t Nintendo Run This Ad For Wii Fit?

Ok gents, here is the greatest ad for the Wii Fit you will ever see. If they ran this ad on TV I would’ve ran out and bought my wife this game (I’m still not going to buy it, don’t worry). But seriously, if every Nintendo Wii ad involved a hot chick using the Wii I bet Nintendo would triple their income. So watch the short clip and thank me later.

Blast Corps Video Review

We blew the dust off of an old game, Blast Corps for the N64 recently. I forgot how awesome that game can be. Its a simple setup, but it lets me blow up all sorts of awesome things.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Ep 1

Competing for the longest game title in history, the Penny Arcade guys have released a game that will bring you back to the old school days of turn-based attack and slapstick comedy.

After fully playing through the demo, I was impressed. I only found a minor hang up or two while playing the game, but nothing that would effect the outcome of your experience. There were times where I would get stuck behind objects on the map, and if I attacked a certain mob and got hit by another one, my attack would revert to them. Neither made much of a difference.

Usually I don’t care about customizing my character, but the ability to add a snappy suit, spectacles, and a smashing top hat, is a little more then I can resist.

The graphics and characters are well done. They’ve managed to integrate their comics, in with the game so that it has a dual feel of comic and game intertwined as one.

Check out the Demo Here.

The price is 19.95 and for me, while I enjoyed the game, I don’t know if I myself will be purchasing it. I am a sucker for turn-based games, but the demo itself didn’t give me enough to work with in terms of wanting to make a purchase. However, if you enjoy Penny Arcade and you are into turn-based RPGs, then you will most likely enjoy this offering.

Skate 2 Drops a Deuce on Consumers

I’d like to thank EA for gift wrapping that title and leaving it on my doorstep. It’s like an early Christmas present.

I might have missed the boat on this one, but since when does anyone give two shits about a Skate sequel? Isn’t this the game that came out with lukewarm reviews? I guess stealing the crown from Tony Hawk has automatically obligated EA to make this sequel. I don’t have a problem with a sequel, but don’t make it out to be an epic event, and don’t forget to fire your marketing team.

Make a note: I should never doubt myself.

“I think you’ll remember.”

This was the date that many people have been waiting for. Wii Fit and Haze are out and the early reviews are in. THEY BOTH SUCK. WOOOHOOO!

IGN gave Haze a 4.5, after I called Haze a glorified copy of Halo 3. I almost doubted myself when some tool on Digg said the following:

Buried cause the description was written by an asshole.

Haze will undoubtedly be a hit because it’s done by Free Radical. And Haze is not a Halo rip off for pete’s sakes. Do you know nothing about the history of this company?

OH NOEZ, FREE RADICAL MADE THE GAME! IT MUST BE GOOD. Free Radical made Time Splitters, and I have something for you on that subject: BIG FUCKING DEAL. OHHH they came from Rare and they had a hand in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark… Who fucking cares?! Maxis made The Sims, so should I have just assumed that Sims Societies was going to be good?

Nintendo lays another egg, by releasing another gimmicky, mini-game loaded piece of crap. Yes, I’m well aware that the Wii Balance Board is a cool peripheral, but that doesn’t excuse NIntendo from boxing it with a shit game like Wii Fit. Gamespot gave Wii Fit a 7.0, which I’m sure was rounded up from a 6.1, due to sponsorship pressures. This was another game, that I told you before was going to be junk.

The moral of the story is, I was right… And I should get a medal.
