It’s no small secret that I am a fan of platform games. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 reigns supreme champion of favorite game ever in my top five as well as being one of my fondest childhood memories. This passion for platformers made up a good fraction of my excitement for other classics like Crash Bandicoot and new games like Little Big Planet. So of course I’m excited for this new game available for Xbox Live, ‘Splosion Man.
The main character of ‘Splosion Man is a little guy made from burning embers. When he uses his special ability he sets off a small explosion that uses up a third of his body mass, but triggers a chain reaction that launches him through the level. The point of the game is to use his ability to flawlessly move your way through each level, while avoiding the scientests trying to catch you.
From what I’ve seen it looks fun, whacky and beauftiful for the price of a downloadable game. There’s fifty single player levels, and the game has co-op capabilities. Play Magazine did a short review on it with some really great character art and game play footage. I strongly recomend checking out this game!
