Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Ep 1
Competing for the longest game title in history, the Penny Arcade guys have released a game that will bring you back to the old school days of turn-based attack and slapstick comedy.
After fully playing through the demo, I was impressed. I only found a minor hang up or two while playing the game, but nothing that would effect the outcome of your experience. There were times where I would get stuck behind objects on the map, and if I attacked a certain mob and got hit by another one, my attack would revert to them. Neither made much of a difference.
Usually I don’t care about customizing my character, but the ability to add a snappy suit, spectacles, and a smashing top hat, is a little more then I can resist.
The graphics and characters are well done. They’ve managed to integrate their comics, in with the game so that it has a dual feel of comic and game intertwined as one.
The price is 19.95 and for me, while I enjoyed the game, I don’t know if I myself will be purchasing it. I am a sucker for turn-based games, but the demo itself didn’t give me enough to work with in terms of wanting to make a purchase. However, if you enjoy Penny Arcade and you are into turn-based RPGs, then you will most likely enjoy this offering.
